Epic Law

The Law Folks

Me, My Family, Religion, And Nation Are The Best

There is unhappiness all around, for most of us. It is due to: first, king size egos taking priority over relationships; second, inability to agree to disagree amicably; third, inability to forgive and forget; and finally insatiable greed for unrestrained sensual pleasures. There is diversity even in egos: a personal ego, my family ego, my cultural ego, and my religion ego. We are not satisfied just to feel right ourselves; we are more happy, when we tell others that they are wrong and if they accept our way of life, our happiness increases multifold as our ego is fully satisfied.

A paradox

Every human being thinks:

‘I am an honest, simple soul!

Who is more often than not, exploited by cunning people in the World.’

He forgets that he too is a part of the World,

My relations

I love my relations.

But,

I love me, more.

I love my children, my spouse, my parents, my siblings, and my friends.

God forbid, if there is an ego clash,

Then, I love me still more.

May be, God can still save the relationship.

In the past, there was always a war of succession in royal families.

Impatient princes imprisoned or killed, the old king – the father – who lived too long,

Or the potential king, their elder brother.

The examples set by royalty have trickled down to commoners.

There is awareness and greed all around.

* There are grown up children, who push the old age parents into old age homes,

They may pretend to go there voluntarily.

* There are violent property disputes between parents and children, between siblings, and between spouses.

The relationships are sacrificed at the altar of greed, sensual pleasures, and ambitions.

Social relations

My society is the best.

My nation is the best, as I am born in this nation.

We follow Sir Walter Scott, who wrote,

‘Breathes there a man, with soul so dead,

Who to himself hath never said:

This is my own, my native land.’

We can safely add more to this:

‘This is my state, my nation, and my country.

This is my colour, my language, my culture,

And this is my religion.

These are all, always the best.’

Can, my objects, and concepts be the best, just because they are mine?

Unfortunately this myth prevails in the World.

But can we all be the best?

No way!

We all can be good, but all can’t be the best.

We can decide a gold medal in Olympics.

We have even quantified beauty in beauty pageants,

To decide Miss World or Miss Universe.

But, can we decide: a best human being, a best nation, a best country or a best religion?

There are good, and bad principles of life.

There are Godly principles of life: kindness, fearlessness, honesty, morality, humility, contentment, and truthfulness.

There are devilish principles of life: jealousy, hatred, violent attitude, intolerance, supremacy of color, culture, religion or race, and anachronistic Taleban concepts on inequality between genders

We all have a mix of Godly and devilish traits.

There is no perfect, integrated human being, who is Godlike.

We human being are just imperfect entities.

We may excel in: business, or sports, or politics, literature, or technology,

But still, be a slave to sensual pleasures, or to jealousy, hatred, or have a megalomania about ourselves, and our nation.

God alone is perfect.

Let’s develop Godly traits in ourselves, in our family, and in our society.

It is a formidable goal for humanity.
